A musical polyglot, musician, educator, mentor, producer and visionary composer, Jowee seamlessly blends Afro rhythms, Haitian spiritual, contemporary music, improvastion, hip-hop grooves and many more, into a sound that is unmistakably his own.
Born in Montreal to Haitian parents, his musical journey was profoundly shaped in his father’s church, where his voices and later the alto saxophone became a powerful channel for his expression. With influences ranging from hymns to Michael Jackson and 2Pac, guided by the mentorship of Ornette Coleman and Kenny Garrett, Jowee’s eclectic background fuels his boundless creativity.
From his Caribbean roots to his time at Berklee College of Music & the Vibrant New York City scene, Jowee’s musical journey highlights his Dedication to blending Diverse influences. He collaborated with renowned artists such as Roy Hargrove, JB Dunckel (Air), Tony Allen (Fela), Herlin Riley, Marcus Miller, Hindi Zahra, Kazy Lambist, and André 3000, along with his role as The Master of Ceremony for Quincy Jones’ 85th Birthday Celebration at Montreux Jazz.
